A letter from the founders:
"Technology is improving at an astounding rate and new breakthroughs are made every day, but is this a good thing? At what point do we cross the line where most people's jobs become obsolete, the environment becomes unsavable, and private online information is a thing of the past? Most of us see this overwhelming future scenario as inevitable.
Despite this common feeling of despair, we like to think about all the good being done whether we look to cure harmful diseases, encourage human evolution and find solutions to climate change. Quantum computers are an excellent example of technology that provides the opportunity to contribute to social advancement. By inspiring a group of people with aligned values and a desire to learn, we will reach the goal of making use of this new technology ethically. The timing of quantum’s birth provides us with an impeccable opportunity to begin learning and implementing. This is why we started The Western Quantum Club.
